Original Caption: "I’m Clean" Bumper Stickers Are Given to Any Motorists Who Wish to Place Them on Their Vehicles after Passing an Inspection at an Auto Emission Inspection Station in Downtown Cincinnati, Ohio Since the Beginning of 1975. All City Motorists Must Pass the Long Standing Safety Check Only Once a Year. An Emissions Test on an Exhaust Analyzer Has Been Added for All Light Duty, Spark Ignition Powered Motor Vehicles to Monitor Safe Levels of Carbon Monoxide and Hydrocarbons. 09/1975

Original Caption: Car Entering a Safety Inspection Building in an Easily Accessible Location in Downtown Cincinnati, Ohio. Safety Inspections Began in 1940 and Were Done on a Semi-Annual Basis until It Became an Annual Event in January, 1975. In Addition to the Safety Check All Light Duty, Spark Ignition Powered Motor Vehicles Are Hooked Up to an Exhaust Analyzer and Monitored for Carbon Monoxide and Hydrocarbon Emissions. Under the Old System 800 to 1,200 Vehicles a Day Were Checked 08/1975
